Unfortunately, due to a massive medical conference coming to Chicago the weekend of the wedding, we were unable to go the route of a traditional hotel block. Instead, I have compiled a list of Bed & Breakfasts and furnished apartments in our neighborhood, Wicker Park, and the neighboring Bucktown. It would be great to have our out of town guests all within walking distance of one another. The wedding venue is easily accesible from this area via a short taxi ride or public transportation.
The Two Urns: These same owners have a Bed and Breakfast and two separate furnished apartments, all in the same area.
The Wicker Park Inn
The Ruby Room
Ray's Bucktown B & B
The Bucktown Respite: A 2-Bedroom furnished apartment
Sam's Place: Also in Bucktown (scroll down)
Please pay careful attention to minimum night stay requirements, maximum occupancies, and other fine print.
If you wish to stay in a regular hotel, you might be able to find an individual room somewhere downtown. You might have the best luck if you wait until May or so to book one of those, as the unreserved rooms for the conferences gradually open up.
Failing that, you could also try out by your airport. Both O'Hare and Midway are accesible to downtown via the train.
Also, you can try Craigslist for Bed & Breakfasts and furnished rooms in other neighborhoods. Here are a few we found: The China Doll units in hopping Lincoln Park or Harvey House or the more affordable The Longwell Hall B&B, both in historical Oak Park.
If you have any questions, just shoot us an email! We would love to help any way we can.
